How do I import users?

Answer

  • Save your Spreadsheet as a .csv file (Comma Separated Value)
  • From the Main page select import under List and user functions
  • Select import emails with different values for attributes .
  • Select the list to add the users to at the top of the page.
  • Browse for the appropriate csv file on your computer.
  • Set field delimiter to "," (COMMA character without quotes)
  • Test Output will show whether there are errors in the order of your comma separate values file. It is advised to do this with larger lists the first time you import.
  • Select Make confirmed immediately , this will mark the user as valid for receiving e-mails.
  • Click Import

In regard to attributes, the system will ask you to match the columns in your file, with the appropriate attributes already present in the system. If they were created beforehand, select the correct heading. If they were not, select Create new one

The system will give a summary of how many e-mails were to added the list in total and how many are new to the system.

Next, you must mark all users to receive HTML e-mails. From the Main page, select Reconcile Users. Here you have many options to manipulate the user data. In this instance we will click mark all users to recieve HTML. You will be given a small summary of how many were changed at the top of the page.

Finally, you must check for e-mail errors. Erroneous users can cause your mailings to slow, or possibly halt, while trying to send to non-users.

Select To try to automatically fix emails for users who have an invalid email. You will be given a list of users the system attempted to fix, and what they were changed to. You can also use this interface to find any invalid e-mails that the system cannot fix, and correct them manually by clicking the email.

If a correction to a user results in a duplicate e-mail, the system will give an error. Simply deleting the invalid e-mail will correct this.
